Nokia 8110 4G - Enable KaiOS Developer Mode

    

        Hi all, i've come across both KaiOS official site and Nokia forum for enable "Developer Mode", sometime it's just an Android version but No, for KaiOS is not Android OS, so the KaiOS support very very fast response from my question about developer mode but unlucky it's not work for Nokia 8110 4G OEM software, and now...

        I can enable develop mode for Nokia 8110 4G, it's not quite hard but not simple also, basically i had already devices and software, please prepare all below of them.

- List of hardware -
Nokia 8110 4G
MicroSD card (at least 2 GB)
USB cable devices (NOT type-c)
Macbook Pro (MacOS or OSX)

- List of software -
Android File Transfer -> Download
Smith -> Download

        1. I've update KaiOS to be version 12.00.17.06 not sure for older version but you can try next step first before update KaiOS, it's take too much of download time by my 4G hotspot.

        2. I don't have MicroSD card first time, anything failed, so i've attached 2GB MicroSD card, it's enough for use but the important things is, you need to goto Settings > Storage > Media > Format SD card then choose Format. Now your sd card ready for use.

        3. Download and install Android File Transfer application on Mac, From Nokia 8110 goto Settings > USB Storage > Enabled, then attach USB cable to your Nokia 8110 4G and Macbook, The Android File Transfer will launch automatically. Download smith.zip file (don't extract file) and paste to SD Card Storage (don't place inside any folder). Then quit Android File Transfer application and unattached USB cable.

        4. Turn off Nokia 8110, after screen light-off press "up" and "power" and hold until KaiOS logo appear or devices vibrate or jingle sound play suddenly release both "up" and "power" button. The KaiOS will running to recovery mode like below. 

        5. Move cursor by press "down" to menu "Apply update from SD card" and press "power".

        6. The screen will brought you to inside SD card, move cursor to "smith.zip" file and press "power" then wait a sec the system will be override content in smith.zip to system.

        7. The system will back to first KaiOS recovery mode screen, goto menu "Wipe data/factory reset" and press "power".

        8. It's lead to confirm screen and you must choose "Yes" and press "power" before the data will wipe out, just wait a sec.

        9. After that move cursor to "Reboot system now" and press "power" then after completed reboot you need to config Nokia 8110 like first time to turn on system.

        10. After come to home screen goto Settings > Device, you will see menu "Developer" menu under Accessibility. Choose "Debugger" menu.

    

        11. From this point just choose "ADB and DevTools" then confirm. Now your Nokia 8110 had enabled "Developer Mode" and you can use as testing devices.
